The project for the development and construction of a Solar Park on the territory of the "Astika" brewery in the town of Haskovo was aimed at confirming our desire to be leaders and leaders in the introduction of sustainable technologies to the Bulgarian beer industry. It is extremely important for us to be responsible producers of quality products. Upon completion of construction, the park produces up to 30% of the electricity required to operate the brewery. The plans of Kamenitza AD are to continue with the expansion of the park in the coming years and to strengthen its position as a responsible business.

It is important for us to be responsible producers and to get to know all our partners - customers, distributors, consumers, suppliers, business partners, institutions, media, local communities, etc. with our strategy, plans and projects, with which we aim to reduce the negative impact on the environment and increase our positive impact.

The construction of the solar park started at the end of 2022 and the first phase was finalized in 2023. Various teams from the company participated in the construction of the facility, with plans to expand the park by more than 5,000 square meters in the coming years.

Colleagues from different departments actively participated in the construction activities of the solar park. It covers an area of 15,350 square meters and has 4,342 photovoltaic panels installed that produce 2 MWh of electricity, enough to supply up to 30% of the plant's production energy needs. The opening of the solar park was accompanied by an official event with guests from various institutions, media and partners of Kamenitza AD. The event was covered by various media. In line with our global sustainable development policy, the company's second sustainable development report was also issued in 2023, where we share more information about the production processes and the work of Kamenitza AD towards a better and greener future.

From the beginning of 2022, our plant in Haskovo will purchase entirely only green electricity. Through the construction of the solar park in the brewery "Kamenitza" AD continues to work in accordance with the goals for the use of resources from renewable sources and respects its commitment to the company's strategy for sustainable development. The solar park is the first in Central and Eastern Europe, and the first on a similar scale in the Molson Islands province at the global level. Currently, the solar park produces up to 30% of the electricity required for the operation of the brewery. For 2022, thanks to the use of green energy, we have saved more than 190 tons of carbon emissions.n
