Project Aim
Today, the competition on the job market is huge and for BTL Industries qualified people are the foundation of the company's success and the innovations it creates. Meanwhile, the company's growth rate over the past 2 years (over 40%) in Bulgaria requires efforts not only to retain quality staff, but also to attract over 200 new employees in 2023. To achieve these goals, the company is implementing a dedicated HR strategy and tactics to establish itself as an employer of choice and differentiate itself from competitors. The strategy includes:
- unique internal programs to develop key competencies and skills, and team building initiatives;
- special external campaigns with an educational focus - BTL is one of the most active companies in the development of dual education in Bulgaria.
Project Target Group
The target groups of the HR strategy of BTL Industries are 2:
1. Internal audiences - current employees with the aim of retaining and motivating them to reach their full potential;
2. External audiences
- potential future employees - qualified personnel to be attracted to become part of the company;
- students - to become part of BTL's dual training programme and a permanent part of the team in the future;
- media - as a tool to build a positive image of BTL as an employer of choice.
Project Duration
BTL Industries has a long-term strategy for attracting and retaining staff, which it updates each year in line with market changes, staff expectations and its goals.
In 2023, BTL added:
- a new “Training Center” for production employees
- construction of a new modern factory in Plovdiv, where its entire team will be working soon
- improved its dual training partnership with the Professional School of Electronis
- organized a contest for young talents and a business conference for student
Project Activities
BTL Industries is one of the largest investors in human capital in Bulgaria, and in 2023 efforts in this direction were doubled. The new factory of BTL is one of the largest investments in Plovdiv, worth over EUR 40 million.
The modern building will offer even better conditions and will be equipped with its own cantina, gym and green park. It will employ over 700 people, with a prospect for the figure to grow to 1,000.
BTL is a partner of dual training in the country and supports the development of practical skills from an early age. In 2023, the students of the Professional School in Electronics even won third prize in the Youth Technical Creativity cocontest with a project developed at BTL.
In 2023, BTL opened a new “Training Centre” where new recruits of the Production Department attended courses to prepare for their upcoming duties. The company also introduced a new “Leadership” program which includes a trainings for team leaders.
In 2023, BTL organized a major business forum “Why Bulgaria?” on the occasion of its 25th anniversary with the managers of leading companies to discuss development and career opportunities in the country. The event had free entrance for student
Project Results
In 2023, BTL Industries was able to attract and hire a total of 262 new employees. Each of them attended trainings to provide them with the necessary skills, but also with the aim of fast-tracking them into the job and integrating them into the team.
In the summer of 2023, 8 students from the Professional School of Electronics completed a practical internship in the company as part of the dual training program. The project, which they developed together with the BTL team even subsequently won an award at the Youth Technical Creativity contest.
The special “Why Bulgaria?” business conference in October 2023 was attended by over 120 students, whose feedback on the event was extremely positive.
