Project description

Project Aim

Raising awareness about road safety through various annual initiatives targeting all age groups and especially young people. The goal is to educate a responsible society, with a built-up road culture, increased attention to unexpected situations and challenges on the road. The aim also is to build on the long-standing initiative, dedicating special attention to new technologies and the new generation through the means and language of communication popular with them.

Project Target Group

All participants in the traffic: children, motorcyclists, pedestrians, young and more experienced drivers. What unites the activities is the appeal to reasonable driving and commitment to the safety of other road users, responsibility to the loved ones and family of each of us.

Project Duration

The "Call when you arrive" initiative is a long-term road safety and awareness campaign of EKO Bulgaria with over 10 years of history. In September 2023, we launched the via Viber to raise awareness about road safety, and the initiative is still active today. The campaign continues in 2024.

Project Activities

Among the implemented projects within the framework of the "Call when you arrive" initiative in the last 10 years are: - initiatives for children with a focus on safe movement on the streets through open lessons at school, provision of reflective equipment for first graders; - construction of reflective zebra crossing; - organizing road safety games at schools; - creation and installation of new road signs with the slogan "Call when you arrive" - a charity fundraising program through a special discount card that enables the customer to make a donation, with the funds raised being invested in road safety programs. - "EKO Motorcycle School", led by the motorcycle champion and ambassador of the campaign - Martin Choy. - a collection of Viber stickers, through which the campaign will "speak" the language of the young and connect the generations through a single message.

Project Results

The Viber sticker initiative started at the beginning of the school year and as of now there are over 20,000 downloads and over 75 000 sent stickers in the collection. The broad positive response we receive assures us that our mission makes a real impact on society. EKO Bulgaria upholds its long-standing commitment to socially responsible business practices, and road safety is a topic that never loses its relevance, unites generations and builds a better, more responsible and sustainable society.
