Project description

Project Aim

he main goal is to recycle used mattresses and create secondary products. We aim to achieve the recycling of about 30,000 mattresses per year, which will contribute to the environment, unload the capacity of landfills, avoid the growth of household waste fees and for the development of the circular economy. In the short term, we strive for partnerships with municipalities, as well as with interested organizations and institutions. The long-term plan is to build a chemical plant for polyurethane recycling and create new products from recyclates.

Project Target Group

Rematrak's target group is households, owners and managers of hotels and other accommodation facilities, manufacturers and traders of mattresses, municipal structures: kindergartens, hospitals, homes, etc. To reach them, we conduct information campaigns, meetings, participate in various exhibitions and thematic events related to a sustainable lifestyle, ecology and recycling, as well as in events concerning municipalities and various branch organizations.

Project Results

From the start of the project until today, we have held a number of meetings and conversations, organized and participated in various events, and become recognizable. We have managed to position ourselves in sustainable industries as a company with future and potential. We expanded the scope of activity from Southwest Bulgaria to the entire country. We gathered information and learned from similar industries in France, the Netherlands and Germany. We started working with a scientist from BAS in the direction of generating a secondary product. By working on the project, I expanded my knowledge in the field of recycling, ESG and circular economy.
