Project Aim

Continuing professional interactive education for physicians of various specialties through free online scientific forums moderated by leading experts. Familiarizing the medical community with the latest developments in the treatment of socially significant diseases - heart failure, chronic kidney disease, diabetes mellitus. Presentation of the experience of world medical centers. The company offered a unique mix of online and in-person formats, providing year-round continuity of learning.

Project Target Group

Doctors from all over the country - from pre-hospital and hospital care - cardiologists, endocrinologists, internal medicine, general practitioners.

Project Duration

A total of 1 year during which the company organized and sponsored 4 virtual professional events, each lasting 30 days - 120 days in total.

Project Activities

In 2023. Boehringer Ingelheim organized the following free online medical seminars for doctors to improve their qualifications for the benefit of Bulgarian patients: 1. Jardiance - a new standard in the treatment of heart failure Period - January - February 2023; moderator - prof. Nina Gocheva; Target specialties- general practitioners (GPs) and cardiologists; 2. Heart failure - do we need a new look at a familiar problem? Period- May 2023; moderators - Assoc. Iliana Petrova, Assoc. Target specialties - general practitioners, cardiologists 3. Highlights of the XI Congress of Interventional Cardiology Period- November- December 2023; moderator - prof. Kiril Karamfilov; Target specialties - general practitioners, cardiologists, endocrinologists 4. How does the evidence from trials influence the achievement of early benefits in patients with chronic heart failure in clinical practice? Period - November- December 2023; moderators - prof. Maria Tokmakova, prof. Target specialties - GPs, cardiologists, internal medicine, imaging

Project Results

In 2023, 1812 Bulgarian physicians improved their qualifications through virtual seminars, and were introduced by reputable specialists to the latest treatment options for common, some of which have been difficult to treat, diseases such as heart failure with preserved ejection fraction. The medical community was given the confidence to apply modern therapies to patients who would benefit from them.
