Project Aim
1/3 of edible food is wasted. Foodobox tackles this problem by creating a marketplace platform that connects restaurants, cafes, grocery stores, retailers and bakeries with customers who can purchase surplus food at discounted prices, starting from 40% off, preventing perfectly good food from ending up in landfills. Through a user-friendly app, Foodobox offers a win-win-win solution: businesses reduce waste and boost revenue by selling surplus food, consumers enjoy delicious meals at affordable prices, while the planet benefits from better utilization of resources and reduced CO2 emissions.
Project Target Group
The project is directed outside the company. As a marketplace platform, Foodobox works directly with b2b customers - these are the partner establishments that sell food, but also with b2c customers - these are the end users who save it from being thrown away.
Currently, the company has concluded partnerships with over 500 food outlets in the 3 largest Bulgarian cities, as well as in Bucharest. End users are almost 100,000.
Communication is mostly online in social networks.

Project Results
For us, our most valuable achievements are the positive recommendations from existing customers to new potential customers. We often receive messages on social networks in which users write to us that they were able to avoid throwing food at home by applying the zero-waste recipe that we published.
In 2022, it was extremely difficult and time-consuming to include new partners in our network, because the company was new and not well known. But due to continuous efforts, today our network is increasing ten times faster than the start, due to the recommendations of current partners to new ones. The interest of the large supermarket chains, which 2 years ago did not want to partner with us, is also increasing, and we are now at the final stage of the negotiations.
