Founded in 1991 with the support of the governments of the Republic of Bulgaria and the United States of America, the American University in Bulgaria (AUBG) offers high quality American education at an extremely competitive price and is proud of the success of its graduates all over the world. AUBG is accredited both in the United States by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE) and in Europe by the Bulgarian National Agency for Assessment and Accreditation. As a result, AUBG graduates are awarded a double diploma – for the US and Europe.
The university offers 12 bachelor's programmes, a Master's degree in Business Administration for Managerial Staff and a Master's degree in Finance, Banking and Real Estate Management, together with the Bocconi University of Economics in Milan. 1000 students from over 40 countries are trained in AUBG, with more than 70 faculty members from over 20 countries. One of the main reasons for the high quality education offered by the American University in Bulgaria to its students is the small size of the classes, which allows our distinguished international faculty members to pay individual attention to the students.
AUBG has the best university campus in the region: comfortable dormitories, America-for-Bulgaria Student Centre honours, and the largest English-language library in Southeastern Europe. Thus, students live and study in a campus meeting the highest world standards. Altogether, AUBG graduates are about 5,000, with 99.8% of them starting work or continuing their Master or PhD programmes in a few months after graduation. In addition, AUBG holds leading positions in the rating system of the Ministry of Education for the eighth consecutive year.
