22 April 2004 The Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum, in partnership with the British Embassy in Bulgaria, hosted the first ever British-Bulgarian Business Breakfast at Hilton Hotel, on April 22. The meeting brought together BBLF members - leaders of Bulgarian and international companies, representatives of the large British investors in Bulgaria and diplomats.
Britain's Ambassador to Bulgaria, H.E. Jeremy Hill and Mr. Maxim Behar, BBLF Chairman, used the occasion to announce the planning of a British-Bulgarian Business Forum with the participation of British companies, to take place in September 2004.
In his address to the participants, H.E. Jeremy Hill pointed out that there are some 50-60 British companies currently doing business in Bulgaria and taking active part in this country's corporate life. Great Britain, through the achievements of companies such as Crown Agents, Petreco, Sofiyska Voda and more, currently occupies the ninth spot among foreign investors in Bulgaria.
"All of this is quite good, but it could be even better," said H.E. Jeremy Hill.
"The key word in our forum is ‘business' and I am convinced that we can work in cooperation with the British companies in Bulgaria and set even higher standards for business in our country," stated Mr. Maxim Behar, BBLF Chairman.
