Bulgarian National Bank Governor Dimitar Radev was the guest speaker at the third edition of our BBLF Fireside Chat project. The unique format seeks to provide an exclusive opportunity for informal dialogue and interactive discussion of current developments in this country and beyond.
This year, the high-profile event took place on 27 February at Hyatt Regency Pravets Resort and was attended by an ever larger number of owners and managers of organisations from the responsible business community.
The interactive working meeting convened a distinguished audience of more than 40 of the most active member companies of the BBLF. They had the opportunity to discuss current developments: from the introduction of the euro as the official currency, through economic development and investment conditions in our country, to the global economy.
BBLF President Anton Panayotov opened the meeting emphasising the importance of partnership and open dialogue between business and institutions, while Vice President Levon Hampartzoumian introduced the distinguished guest and his prominent career as a financial expert at the local and international levels and later moderated the discussion.
In his keynote speech, BNB Governor Dimitar Radev pointed out the good preparation and smooth introduction of the euro as the official currency in Bulgaria as of 1 January 2026, and the positive impact it has had on the process of attracting investors. He also focused on a number of financial, economic, and macroeconomic issues, emphasising fiscal discipline and the role of business in economic and social development.
In addition, guests from the BBLF community had the unique opportunity to raise topics of interest and receive direct answers from the keynote speaker. The C-suite networking continued during dinner, with guests exchanging knowledge and experience in various sectors and building relationships.
The BBLF Fireside Chat format aims to provide a useful opportunity for informal discussion on topics that directly affect the economy and business environment. With it, the BBLF continues its policy of facilitating dialogue between the private sector and institutions on the key factors for this country's progress and prosperity, in line with its vision of making Bulgaria a good place to invest, work, and live in.
