At a high-profile ceremony on 10 June 2021 at Sofia Hotel Balkan  the Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum (BBLF) announced the winners of the 18th edition of its Annual Responsible Business Awards – the most long-standing and prominent  national competition for corporate social responsibility and sustainable development mottoed Lead by Example.

Senior managers of more than 60 BBLF member companies, companies that submitted their entries, members of the jury and partners from the NGO sector attended the event, which was held in partnership with Philip Morris Bulgaria, KCM 2000, M3 Communications Group, Inc. and Dundee Precious Metals Chelopech.

The high-status prizes were handed out by Kiril Petkov, Minister of Economy, Asen Vassilev, Minister of Finance, Prof. Nikolay Denkov, Minister of Education and Science, Galab Donev, Minister of Labour and Social Policy, Yordanka Fandakova, Mayor of Sofia, Reneta Koleva, Deputy Minister of the Environment and Waters, Boyko Takov, Executive Director of Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency and Tim Buisseret, Head of UK Trade & Investment with the British Embassy.

By organising the prestigious annual competition BBLF aims to encourage and promote the contribution of the private sector to building a fair social environment and a sustainable future. "The turnout in the current edition of the Awards made it clear that Covid-19 did not cancel the commitments of responsible companies to engage with social issues, but rather  intensified them - many of them transformed their initiatives to meet current social challenges, and we have all witnessed unprecedented mobilisation and solidarity", BBLF Chair Levon Hampartzoumian said at the opening of the ceremony.

78 companies entered the 2020 Annual Responsible Business Awards submitting a total of 111 successful and inspiring campaigns in support of various social causes in education, healthcare, ecology, employee development, support for local communities, etc. All entriesin the individual categories were presented briefly during the ceremony, and the companies ranked first, second and third by the independent expert jury received their prizes and certificates.
