BBLF’s competition is open to all companies regardless of their size or industry
The Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum (BBLF) officially launched nominations for its Annual Responsible Business Awards at a conference at BTA today. This country’s most prestigious CSR competition, held for the 13th year in a row, is open to all companies implementing or supporting initiatives in the social sphere. The aim of the Forum as the organiser of the event is to encourage and promote companies that invest in causes of high public value so that their inspiring example encourages many others to follow suit.
“We are delighted by the fact that the concept of business ethics and responsible business behaviour has been shared by an increasing number of companies that take very seriously their commitment to nature, employees, education, health and other social issues. We have observed a steady growth of companies that invest resources in projects with added value for the community and thus change our social environment. We wish to acknowledge and celebrate their efforts, we believe that they bring us closer to our vision of making Bulgaria a better place to invest, work and live in”, BBLF Chair Iravan Hira said.
Businesses vie in six categories and one of all entries will be honoured with the special Engage Award that recognises employee engagement in social good projects.
“We urge all companies to enter the competition regardless of their size, sector or resources. We hope that this year again the Awards will be not only a nationwide contest but also a platform for sharing inspiring ideas and best practices, both established and innovative ones, in the field of corporate social responsibility. We are confident that this is the path towards sustainable development of society”, George Ruitchev, BBLF Executive Director, said.
"The Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum offers a highly regarded arena for companies to share their social good projects. Last year's Awards saw an increase in new and start-up companies that entered and won prizes. Let us wish an even more successful and full of new projects edition in 2015," Katia Dimitrova, CEO of InterImage said. The company got the Investor in Environment award in 2014 enabling it to run in the Business Awards for the Environment of the European Commission in 2016.
“The presence of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy on the judging panel is a clear sign of support for companies that are working to change the social environment. Moreover, the efforts of businesses are the engine for the development of a number of sector policies not limited to the social field”, Veselin Ilkov, Head of European Coordination unit with the MLSP said.
The 2015 Annual Responsible Business Awards are open to companies from across the country regardless of whether they are members of the Forum or not. Online entries can be made here, and the deadline for applications is 15 January 2016. Winners will be announced at a ceremony in February 2016.
