BGN 26,990 were raised last night at a charity auction benefitting the For Life charity initiative that fights breast cancer. A big thank you to all our members and supporters who took part in the event! BBLF has been a partner of the initiative since 2013.
Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandakova who is the patron of For Life opened the event which took place at Rubaiyat-NDK Restaurant. Guests included Zoya Paunova, Deputy Chairperson and George Ruitchev, Executive Director of BBLF; Dr. Valentin Angelov, Executive Director of the Specialised Oncology Hospital in Sofia; Prof. Dr. Ivan Chernozemski; Mitko Todorov, Director of the 13 Centuries Bulgaria National Endowment Fund; Magrarita Gomez-Aasebo; representatives of business circles, doctors and medical experts, artists, the media.
The bulk of the amount was collected at the auction that saw works of famous artists, including one by renowned Dimitar Neron Kazakov. The hosts of the event were Maria Statulova and Orlin Goranov and the programme featured the Tenors Trio, Neshka Robeva’s dancers, Vasil Petrov, Mariana Popova. Partners of the initiative are BBLF, NDK, 13 Centuries Bulgaria National Endowment Fund.
The charity auction was part of the For Life charity initiative. The goal is to raise BGN 1.5 million for the purchase of an apparatus for intraoperative radiotherapy. The device will be donated to Sofia’s Oncological Hospital. The up-to-date therapy is used during surgery and reduces the risk for many patients.
