The sixth edition of the annual charitable event Evening of the Virtues will be held on October 6th, 2015 and once again our host is Sofia Event Centrе at Paradise Centrе. All the funds raised at the event will be invested in providing specialised, high quality foster care to children who cannot live in their own families temporarily or permanently.
Foster parents prevent these children from the isolation of the social institution by granting them security and affection on their way back to their parents or to their new adoptive families.
In its 5-year-long tradition, the Evening of the Virtues has always received the support of a significant public figure with a clear stand on children’s rights. In 2015, for the second time in the event’s history, its patron will be Ms. Kristalina Georgieva. Four years ago she granted her support to the Evening saying “there hardly exists a better investment than the one we make in our children. And we all, as a society, are responsible for the children’s future”. Driven by her unquestionable concern regarding children’s rights and protection worldwide, this year Ms. Kristalina Georgieva once again endorses the idea that each child should live in a family.
This year, again, the Evening of the Virtues combines tradition with challenge, coated in the beauty of art. The event’s programme now features four creative performances of four intriguing teams – foster parents, grown-up foster children who were brought up in foster families, distinguished business leaders, and popular Bulgarian actors. Using the language of art and the guidance of renowned mentors, the participants will recreate the emotions that go along each family and will demonstrate that even the most ambitious of goals is reachable when you are not alone on your way to attaining it.
Traditionally, special guests of the Evening are people from the cultural and business community in Bulgaria. During the traditional charitable auction hosted by the one and only Igor Markovski the guests will have the chance to acquire unique paintings, objects from around the world, and personal belongings of popular persons. Hosts of the event will once again be Mira Dobreva and Drago Simeonov, for whom the mission of For Our Children Foundation has long turned into their own personal cause.
