To bring to life Responsible Business Awards’ primary objective – a platform for sharing CSR ideas and experience rather than just a race, we keep on presenting winners in this year’s competition. We truly believe successful projects are worth talking about not just on the night of the Awards but also in the months afterwards because of the inspiration, innovation and practical tips that could prove useful to their sustainable peers.
Investor in Knowledge is one of the most popular categories throughout the 12-year history of the Responsible Business Awards. This time around 17 projects vied for the coveted prizes while the jury honoured the ones carried out by Musala Soft, L’Oreal and Speedy.
Before you proceed to the short Q&A with L’Oreal and Speedy please check out details about their projects (follow the links) and the pictures (in the gallery below).
1st prize – Musala Soft with Musala Soft - investor in knowledge for students in Bulgaria
2nd prize – L’Oréal Bulgaria with For Women in Science
What three words best describe your project? Women, knowledge, science.
What does the BBLF award mean to you? It is a huge and valuable recognition for us. Having in mind that this is the most prominent and influential CSR contest in Bulgaria that strives to promote responsible business best practices we are truly honoured to be selected among this year’s winners. At the same time, it highlights our project, For Women in Science, and makes us even more convinced of its importance and the need to continuously invest in knowledge and science as an essential tool for social development.
What people don’t but should know about your company? The company was founded in 1909 by a researcher, Eugène Schueller, a young chemist with an entrepreneurial spirit. What has forged our identity for over a century is our belief in the value of science and innovation. Research is the driving force behind L’Oréal. L’Oréal Group is the global leader in beauty, and boasts a portfolio of international brands that is unique, covering all the lines of cosmetics and caters to the diverse needs of consumers the world over. L’Oréal is today present in 130 countries, and the Group’s strategy can be summed up in one word: universalisation. Unlike globalisation, which consists in marketing standardised products around the world, universalisation is aimed at offering tailor-made beauty by creating products that are adapted to the differing lifestyles, beauty habits and purchasing powers of different populations.

3rd prize – Speedy with Speedy Invests in Young Talents
What three words best describe your project? Helpful, helpful and … helpful for the community that we are all part of.
What does the BBLF award mean to you? It’s in our company’s core values to support unpopular causes that contribute to the community and especially the youth. Therefore we consider the recognition for our project evidence that even gestures and efforts that are not immediately eye-catching get recognised, sooner or later. We hold the BBLF award in very high esteem as it confirms that we are on the right path and should proceed with our programmes supporting the youth.
What people don’t but should know about your company? Ever since the very start of Speedy we have done our best to make our operations transparent to all of our customers, partners and the community. So there is hardly anything that people don’t know about us. May be what remains unknown is the secret to our success yet I can proudly give out some of it: it lies in the selection, qualification and building of our unique team. Our staff members from top to bottom share a strong motivation and a feeling of belonging to the company. I am certain that one of the reasons behind it lies in Speedy’s corporate citizenship.
