The autumn season saw a hopeful start for BBLF: we welcomed five newcomers and started preparing our first business delegation abroad, to Turkey.
Bulgaria’s biggest responsible business community grew by five more members. At its first session this autumn the Board of BBLF approved the applications of Schneider Electric Bulgaria, a leader in energy management and electrical parts, Sixty K, a rapidly growing contact centre, Billa Bulgaria, the first international supermarket chain to enter the local market, AbbVie, a pharma company developing therapies for complex diseaseas, and Denkstatt Bulgaria, a pioneering sustainability advisory. The five companies operating in a wide variety of sectors presented their CSR and sustainability programmes and committed to observing business ethics standards.
BBLF’s second focus – networking between leaders from different industries – is the reason for the forthcoming business delegation to Turkey. To meet the need for business development of both its members and Bulgarian companies in general BBLF will hold a conference and B2B meetings on 17 October 2014 in Istanbul. The event organised in partnership with the Turkish Confederation of Businessmen and Industrialists (TUSKON) seeks to highlights prospects for bilateral cooperation and, importantly, to provide a platform for direct contacts between Bulgarian and Turkish companies.
