BBLF member companies greeted by new British Ambassador H.E. Emma Hopkins
Four members of the Managing Board of BBLF were elected at the General Meeting held on 27 May 2015 at Grand Hotel Sofia.
Petar Ivanov, Microsoft Bulgaria General Manager who had served on the BBLF Board and Boriana Manolova, Siemens Bulgaria CEO are the new members of the BBLF Managing Board. They won the trust of delegates in the close election.
BBLF members also demonstrated their support for Zoya Paunova, AstraZeneca Bulgaria General Manager, and Maxim Behar, M3 Communications CEO whose mandates were renewed for 3 years. Both have outstanding merit in promoting BBLF as a leading organisation in the area of business ethics and corporate citizenship.
The new and reelected Board members committed to work towards sustainability of the economy and the society, an improved business environment, promotion of good business practices, protecting the interests of members. Delegates also approved of the 2014 activity and financial reports and the 2015 priorities.
„Thank you for your support throughout the year, it gives a reason to work even harder to make Bulgaria a good place to invest, work and live in”, Iravan Hira, BBLF Chairman, told delegates. He also thanked Nikolay Hristov of Dundee Precious Chelopech and Ivan Vassilev, TNT Bulgaria Country Manager whose mandates had expired. Both had put a lot of effort and resource to promoting BBLF mission and values.
The event’s special guest was H.E. Emma Hopkins, the newly appointed British Ambassador to Sofia who greeted the attending representatives of BBLF member companies and emphasized the long-standing cooperation between the British Embassy and BBLF, founded back in 1998 with the Prince of Wales’ support. She also outlined the Forum’s role in promoting transparency and responsibility. „We share your priorities: supremacy of law, curbing corruption, transparency that will improve the business environment for Bulgarian companies and investors alike and lead to prosperity for the society and reaching its full potential. The voice of business in support of reforms can be very persuasive”, she stated.
