Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum’s General Assembly, held yesterday at Grand Hotel Sofia saw elections for three Board members and financial controller. Many thanks to all the member companies that attended the General Assembly and cast their votes indicating the Forum is a vital, influential and dynamic organisation.
Mr. Ivaylo Penchev, Walltopia General Manager and Mr. Petеr Velev, Ecopharm CEO are the new leaders on the BBLF Board. They are replacing Ms. Petya Dimitrova, CEO of Postbank and Prof. Veselin Blagoev, Deputy Dean of International University College who mandates have expired. The two have for years been dedicated members of the Board and will continue to act as ambassadors of its values of sustainability and transparency.
BBLF members also voted in favour of Mr. Vasko Raichev, Chairman of Deloitte Bulgaria, and Mr. Gilbert McCaul, Partner at KPMG who got reelected as member of the Board and financial controller, respectively, for 3 more years. Both have put in a great deal of personal time and resources to building the Forum as a leading association in the area of business ethics and corporate social responsibility.
The new and the reelected Board members committed to work for a sustainable society in Bulgaria, improve the business environment by promoting good practices, contribute to a better dialogue of business and the state administration, build a positive image of entrepreneurship and encourage the values of responsible business.
BBLF Chairman Mr. Iravan Hira congratulated Board members as well as the present representatives of socially responsible companies in Bulgaria. Thank you for your support both at this election and for all our projects over the last year. Hopefully, they have had their positive impact on the community”.
The event’s official guest, Mr. Michael Davidson, Deputy Head of Mission of the British Embassy greeted the attending BBLF members on behalf of H.E. Mr. Jonathan Allen and outlined the role of the Forum in promoting transparency and responsibility. He pointed out the long-term collaboration of the British Embassy and the BBLF that was founded with the help of Prince Charles on numerous projects. “I think the business world offers us an opportunity to look at the world not as it currently exists but as we hope it to be, and that’s particularly true with some of the companies represented here who embrace transparency, open working and collaborative approach to staff, partners and society”.
The guests of the elegant cocktail took advantage of the opportunity to renew longstanding acquaintances and establish new ones.
