Managers of some of the biggest companies in Bulgaria competed in 14 Olympic and Non-olympic disciplines on June 25th
Despite the bad weather forecasts nearly 200 people, representatives of some of the biggest companies in Bulgaria, gathered at the Eighth Business Leaders Olympics organized by the Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum at the Anglo-American School of Sofia.
Managers of Bulgarian and international companies faced each other on the sports field competing in different Olympic and Non-olympic disciplines, including football, basketball, volleyball, badminton, tennis, darts, chess, backgammon and others.
Remarkable sportsmanship was demonstrated by companies such as AstraZeneca, Postbank, Overgas, Siemens, ING Bank, Interamerican, TNT Bulgaria, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Eltrak, BNP Paribas, CEZ, Ernst & Young and others.
The representatives of AstraZeneca excelled as champions both in the volleyball race where they got the upper hand over the team of Siemens and on the basketball pitch imposing over CEZ. The football team of Postbank deservedly won the golden cup, leaving behind the teams of Interamerican and Overgas. The representatives of the Anglo-American School of Sofia were ranked first in badminton and third in volleyball. The gold medal for table tennis went to PricewaterhouseCoopers. The strongest in arm wrestling was a representative of TNT, while in the darts tournament an employee of BNP Paribas’ left her competitors far behind. Best strategists proved to be from ING Bank and CEZ, winning the first place in chess and backgammon, respectively. Good skills on the tennis court demonstrated also the Chinese Ambassador H.E. Guo Yezhou but the definite leaders were from AstraZeneca.


Later in the afternoon participants of the Olympics had the pleasure to embark on the hot beats of salsa under the skillful guidance of professional instructors. Great interest was also provoked by the traditional raffle, where nearly 100 gifts generously provided by RIU Pravets Resort Golf &Spa, USIT Colours, Xerox, AIMS Human Capital, Allied Pickfords, Aquasource, BNP Paribas, Dale Carnegie Training, DHL, Eltrak, Hilton Sofia, Oriflame, Rubella, Shell Bulgaria, TNT Bulgaria, Vega Star and Wine & Wine were handed out to the lucky fellows.
The eighth edition of the Business Leaders Olympics was held thanks to the general sponsorship of Overgas and Postbank, with the financial support of AstraZeneca, ING Bank and Siemens and with the assistance of Kamenitza, Coca-Cola Bulgaria, Pain d'Or, Danone and Armfight energy drinks. The event was kindly hosted for a second consecutive year by the Anglo-American School of Sofia.
