BBLF was among the chosen organizations to be members of the national Advisory Council on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to the Minister of Labor and Social Policy. The first meeting took place on November 9th and representing BBLF was Ms. Zoya Paunova, Country Manager of AstraZeneca Bulgaria and long time member of the BBLF Managing Board.
The focus of the first meeting was to clearly formulate concrete goals of the Advisory Council’s focus and activities in the near future. As a member of the Council, BBLF has commited to continue to promote the values of CSR through its platform as well as to contribute with its expertise in initiating CSR projects such as the Business Master classes and to share its experience related to evaluation processes of CSR initiatives which will be useful when creating the Council's first national Annual Report on CSR.
The Advisory Council on CSR was recently created in order to facilitate the coordination, cooperation and consultation in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of all national public policy related to corporate social responsibility. The mandate of each member of the Advisory Council is until July 1st, 2014.
The Advisory Council has several functions including approval of the plans and implementation of national CSR strategies and their future evaluation at the end of May, 2013. The Advisory Council can propose the establishment of expert working groups on issues related to CSR and can make suggestions to the competent authorities on measures aimed at promoting corporate social responsibility in the country.
