For a Third Consecutive Year AAS Offers Full Scholarships to Talented Bulgarian Students

The premier international IB school in Bulgaria, the Anglo-American School of Sofia (AAS), invites academically talented Bulgarian students to apply for a full 4 year scholarship for the 2009-2010 school year. Presently AAS has 12 Bulgarian students on full scholarships.

On Monday, April 27th 2009, a short list of the most qualified candidates will be made. These candidates will take an entrance examination and be invited to interview with school officials. Successful applicants will be students graduating from Grade 8th, fluent in English, who have an outstanding academic record and a demonstrated financial need.

This initiative is part of the school's commitment to support Bulgaria. AAS has over 14 years experience in corporate social responsibility and is a recognized business leader in this area. In January 2009, AAS was officially awarded by the Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum the most prestigious business award "Best Social Policy for 2008" for its extensive contribution to the education of talented young Bulgarians, financial support for the professional development of teachers and staff, support to needy orphanages in Sofia and ecological care for the environment of Vitosha mountain. The school goals are based on the belief that now is the right time for business leaders in Bulgaria to invest in talented young Bulgarians who in the future will become their employees.

The Anglo-American School is an internationally accredited school in Bulgaria, offering a vibrant, quality education to students from over 40 nationalities. The school's two main accrediting agencies are the Council of International Schools and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. The school is an IB Diploma Program school. AAS high school graduates will be eligible to enter premier universities and colleges world-wide.
