Global Compact has a new Advisory Board

The Global Compact Network has elected its new Advisory Board. The new members are TNT International, Overgas, VM Finance Group, Bulgarian Industrial Association and the Bulgarian Charities Aid Foundation (BCAF). Three of the new Board members - TNT International, Overgas and BCAF are also active members of BBLF.

The GC Advisory Board consists of five Global Compact members which can be companies, non-governmental organizations and academia. The members must be of solid standing and leaders in CSR policies and practices. The Advisory Board has a two-year mandate and convenes on a quarterly basis.

In Bulgaria, the UN Global Compact was officially launched under the auspices of President Parvanov in January 2003. BBLF joined in the initiative in 2004. The mission of the UN Global Compact is to encourage companies to adopt and implement active socially responsible practices in the areas of environment, labor standards, human rights and fight against corruption.
