Product for the treatment of acid-related diseases of the British-Swedish pharma company AstraZeneca was awarded Product of the Year ‘2008 by the Bulgarian Union of Pharmacists.
The company was also granted a Certificate for sustainable contribution to the research & development of prescription medicines.
The prestigious acknowledgements were presented to Mrs Zoya Paunova, Country Manager of AstraZeneca in Bulgaria, on 5 Jul 2008 during the biggest professional pharmacists event in Bulgaria - the Bulgarian Pharma Days forum.
The conference was attended by more than 1200 pharmacists and guests, amongst who Dr Jens Gobrecht, Member of the EU Pharma Group (PGEU).
The awarded product was developed through a technology winning a Nobel Price for chemistry in 2001. It is the top brand of AstraZeneca globally and a market leader in Bulgaria. It is prescribed by gastroenterologists.
