The winners of BBLF Annual Responsible Business Awards 2009.

BBLF Awards the Socially Responsible Companies at the CSR Event of the year!

For the 7th consecutive year the Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum has given out its Annual Responsible Business Awards.

The jury this year was chaired by Sofia Mayor, Jordanka Fandakova who opened the ceremony. Official guests and presenters of the awards were Totyu Mladenov, Minister of Labour and Social Policy, Rosen Plevneliev, Ministår of Regional Development and Public Works, Traycho Traykov, Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism, Nona Karadjova, Minister of Environment and Water, Ivailo Moskovski, Deputy - Minister of Transport, Information Technologies and Communications and H.E. Mr. Steve Williams – Ambassador of Great Britain to Bulgaria. 

The winner in the category Investor in Society was Mobiltel for the project: “1788: Our Answer 178 years after the Morze Alphabet”. Runner-ups were Eco Bulgaria for their project "Call When You Get There!"and AES Galabovo for the project “Travelling classroom – Earth Balloon”.

In the category Investor in Human Capital first place was awarded to Siemens Bulgaria for the project"Construction of a kindergarten for the benefit of the employees of Siemens Bulgaria". Runner- ups in the category were Mobiltel for the project  of providing support for professional orientation and qualification of students through investments in their knowledge on behalf of the company and E.ON Bulgaria for the project "Security in life. Safety at work".

UniCredit Bulbank grabbed the top prize in the category Investor in Environment for the project "National Green Campaign". Second place was awarded to Sofyiska Voda AD for the construction of cogeneration installation for producing electrical and thermal energy from biogas in the Sofia Wastewater Treatment Plant (SWWTP) in Kubratovo. Mobiltel was granted third place for the project "M-Tel ECO GRANT".

In the category Investor in Knowledge the winner of the night was Overgas Inc for the project "Vocational Training" aimed at the younger generation. Second place was awarded to Microsoft Bulgaria for the project “Model for interdisciplinary project-oriented training in primary schools through the integration of technology” and third place to Hewlett Packard Bulgaria for the project “Innovation in education”.

Procter and Gamble was awarded first place in the category Cause related Marketing for the project “Chance to life, chance to new memories”. Runner-ups in that category were the sports and tourism agency Odysseia-In for their project for green marketing of Bulgaria as a destination for adventure tourism and Danone Serdika for the project “Active and Healthy”.

The special "ENGAGE" award, given independently by the Intenational Business Leaders Forum for the overall commitment of a company to the practices of CSR and emplyess' involvment, was awarded to Vivacom.

The special award for the overall CSR practices of a small and medium-sized enterprise was awarded to the Bulgarian Training Firms Center for their project "CSR Academy" aimed for the students.

The scale of this year’s event was unprecedented and over 300 hundred people gathered at the Sheraton Hotel to witness the recognition of 15 companies who have strived to be socially responsible in their business.
