CSR PROFILE BOOK Questionnaire 1. How does the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility correspond with the mission and heritage of your company? In the spirit of Nokia Corporation's long-term traditions, our company has been making working hard in meeting society's needs of high-quality state-of-the-art communication technologies with a "human face", addressing the personal needs of each individual, respecting personality and spiritual values. At the same time, we try to shape up a favorable and friendly business environment governed by decent and honest corporate relations, based on mutual trust and respect. CSR CATEGORIES 2. What is your company's CSR involvement with the COMMUNITY? Considering the specifics of our activity in the sphere of telecommunications, one of Nokia's most socially important projects is the development and implementation of the TETRA system for the purposes of Bulgaria's Border police. This and other projects of ours are our modest contribution to the protection of Bulgaria's sovereignty. Our company is an active participant in a number of charity concerts for orphans and children of deceased police officers. We support the SOS Kindergarten establishment in Bulgaria, and our employees volunteer and provide personal help in different orphanages around the country. 3. What is your company's CSR involvement with the ENVIRONMENT? ------------------------------- 4. What is your company's CSR attitude towards your EMPLOYEES? One of the most important corporate values observed by Nokia Corporation is respect to every individual and assuring opportunities for their professional and personal growth. The Corporation, and Nokia Bulgaria in particular, have developed the ‘Investment in People' programme assuring that our company's employees have the chance to undergo annual training in a sphere they have selected themselves and that differs from their immediate professional obligations, paid for by the Company itself. That helps our employees to enhance their qualifications and improve their skills and expertise. Nokia also makes a thorough evaluation of its employees' achievements throughout the year, in cooperation with their direct managers. We highlight the main directions in each employee's work for the next working cycle. Investment in people is the cornerstone of success in our company. 5. What is your company's CSR involvement with YOUNG PEOPLE and EDUCATION? We are proud to say that Nokia Bulgaria ranks among the most active companies when it comes to investing in education. After we donated volumes of technical literature to Sofia Technical University, we are in the process of participating with Nokia lectors in the BBLF Master Business Classes, as well as in the "Manager for a Day" initiative of Junior Achievement. 6. What is your company's practice of BUSINESS ETHICS? There is no doubt about this question: Our Company is proud of its high morality and responsibility reflected in each of our employees and in the team as a whole. As employees of the leader in the world of telecommunications, we work with the clear awareness that we are part of a world team of more than 40,000 people - a team that has its established ethics and culture, demanding that all of us act with dignity and decency both in our everyday professional activities and as members of our societies.
