CSR PROFILE BOOK Questionnaire 1. How does the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility correspond with the mission and heritage of your company? The Corporate Social Responsibilities of Business Media Group and of Pari Daily respectively complies with the social mission of any responsible national newspaper as a whole. Being a financial and business daily, the Pari Daily makes every effort to inform the public about the essential events in the economy – both national and global – of the economic policy decisions and trends, to analyze and comment on them. We are monitoring the trends on all markets: capital, debt, forex, commodity, etc. Our mission is to try and give the whole and real picture of developing market economy in the country, of the global economic development. The newspaper initiates discussions and forums, seeking concrete solutions to the current problems in the country. CSR CATEGORIES 2. What is your company's CSR involvement with the COMMUNITY? We not only publish information on initiatives like this. The company participates in series of public campaigns in support of orphanages and in charity auctions. Last year, for example, we organized a charity auction of fine art during our traditional Bank of the Year contest. 3. What is your company's CSR involvement with the ENVIRONMENT? We publish stories and analyses on the environment. Our modest practical contribution is our input in paper recycling and our effort in applying paperless office practice. 4. What is your company's CSR attitude towards your EMPLOYEES? The company trains its employees not only through attaching a supervisor to every newcomer, but also through organizing company seminars. The employees’ personal development is stimulated by their engagement in educational projects, internships or professional seminars. Occasionally, we do polls among the employees on the company’s policies to get them involved in problem solving. 5. What is your company's CSR involvement with YOUNG PEOPLE and EDUCATION? The responsible attitude to the professional development of the young people is an inseparable part of the media’s company philosophy. We organize annual contest among the students in the University of National and World Economy and offer scholarships for the first three contestants. Some of them, if they are interested, we employ part time or as freelancers. Currently, two well-trained and highly motivated young people work in the newspaper after last year’s contest. We also have internship programmes, which give students the opportunity to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the newspaper. The newspaper is one of the founders of the Burov foundation and participates actively in all its initiatives, which support students of economics. 6. What is your company's practice of BUSINESS ETHICS? Our company does have a code of ethics. Being in public every day, we are very thorough in complying with the laws. The open and businesslike relations with clients and partners, the high social and ethical responsibility of the newspaper to its employees and partners are an imminent part of it. The company strives to build up reputation of a trustworthy, competent and professional partner with all its associates. Our activities are transparent and exposed.
