1. How does the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility correspond with the mission and heritage of your company?
Our mission is: Mobiltel will remain the Number One provider of wireless services in Bulgaria, meeting the needs of customers and investors by providing quality telecom services and operations. One of our main values is: we support the development of Bulgarian economy. Having in mind the broad sense of the word “economy”, we should not separate CSR concept from it. Being one of the most successful and profitable companies in Bulgaria, Mobiltel contributes to the development of our society and local communities creating jobs, creating business for partner organizations, training and developing its employees, paying good salaries, supporting Bulgarian culture, science and sports, donating money and equipment.

2. What is your company's CSR involvement with the COMMUNITY?
Sponsorships and Donations

M-Tel is among the market leaders, who support the Bulgarian culture, science and education. Progressive and innovative M-Tel cares greatly for the Bulgarian society.
Only for 2002 MobilTel has given away donations and sponsorships to an amount exceeding 1 820 000 BGN. With the help of the Bulgarian GSM-operator the lives of children have been saved. Dozens of gifted young Bulgarians have graduated from leading foreign universities and musical academies. Hundreds of our countrymen have received international recognition and won high reputations and respect by winning prestigious international competitions and races. More than 6 100 000 BGN have been spent on this noble cause during the last 5 years.

Some of M-Tel main projects and sponsorships for the well-being of the Bulgarian society are:
- Drama Theaters around the country
- Apolonia – the most famous art stage for Bulgarian musicians, singers, actors, intellectuals
- Support for Science, Economic Forums, Technologies and Inventions
- Support for the National Mathematics Team
- Presentation of the traditional annual awards of the Union of Bulgarian actors “Icarus”
- Sixth edition of the international competition “Young Musical Talents 2003”
- Sponsoring the “Celebration of the Roses”
- Sponsoring of the best Bulgarian chess-player Veselin Topalov
- Sponsoring of the three times world long-distance swimming champion Peter Stoychev – Bulgaria
- Sponsoring of the M-Tel Bridge school

4. What is your company's CSR attitude towards your EMPLOYEES?
Our philosophy is that “company” means “people”. Mobiltel provides the best possible benefits for its employees - excellent work conditions, various social benefits: medical and dental servicing, food allowance, transportation allowance, canteen, doctor’s room at the headquarters building, fitness room, etc. We are planning to build special kindergarten for the children of our employees in the near future. Mobiltel invests a lot of money in training and development. In fact, every employee goes through some kind of training every year. There are many employees who study for additional degree. Our company supports their efforts and helps them financially in some cases. Mobiltel pays for MBA studies of 8 high-potential employees.



5. What is your company's CSR involvement with YOUNG PEOPLE and EDUCATION?
Most of Mobiltel employees are very young people and they fully benefit from the training and development policy of the company. In addition, Mobiltel provides 2 scholarships for students of AUBG every year and donated money for a modern computer room at Elieff Center in Sofia. Mobiltel supported National Mathematics Team and sponsored the international competition “Young Musical Talents”.

6. What is your company's practice of BUSINESS ETHICS?
Mobiltel practice responsible business behavior. A Code of business ethics was created in 2002 and every employee was acquainted with it. Company Management strives to apply the principles of the code in the real life, which is highly appreciated by all Mobiltel employees. Honesty, personal involvement, open communication, team work and personal respect are promoted and tolerated in our company.
