1. How does the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility correspond with the mission and heritage of your company?
McDonald’s enjoys a heritage of being an active contributor to the community in which we do business. Our founder Ray Croc strongly believed McDonald’s had an obligation to act as a good corporate citizen and “give back” to the customers and communities that supports us. Our commitment is seen in our people’s promise, commitment to invest in people and training, the contribution we make in support of local economy, environmental initiatives, sports, education, community and charity activities – notably the work of Ronald McDonald House Charity (RMHC).

2. What is your company's CSR involvement with the COMMUNITY?
We have special focus on children’s programs in our community programs. This is best illustrated through our support of Ronald McDonald House Charity (RMHC) Bulgaria. RMHC mission is to create, find, and support programs that directly improve the health and wellbeing of children in Bulgaria. We have already worked on events such as World Children’s Day at McDonald’s in 2002 and 2003 to support kids departments for kids sick of leukemia and cancer throughout the country.

3. What is your company's CSR involvement with the ENVIRONMENT?
McDonald’s has implemented environmental responsibility in the management of our own restaurants. These include waste management, packaging use, energy efficiency and litter control. We have worked on programs such as “Lets clean together” on the Earth’s day, co-project with Sofia Municipality and Ministry of Ecology.


4. What is your company's CSR attitude towards your EMPLOYEES?
We aspire to be one of the best employer. Our people vision is supported by the people promise we make to our more than 800 current and future employees in Bulgaria: We value you, your growth, and your contributions. Five people principles reflect McDonald’s values and culture we embrace:
1. Respect and recognition – programs e.g. best restaurant team award, best manager and best crew award, team dinners etc.

5. What is your company's CSR involvement with YOUNG PEOPLE and EDUCATION?
Although at the moment concentrated on working on health projects for kids, RMHC allows us to work also on educational and cultural projects to help kids and their education. We are sponsoring Educational theatre for already more than 5 years in their work in schools in Sofia educating kids in a funny and theatrical way.
We have previously organized Competition for essay on topic “ Reborn of the waste” with awards school scholarships in 2001.


6. What is your company's practice of BUSINESS ETHICS?
We value in our business ethics the “win – win” model for McDonald’s, its partners and customers. We value the principles of the loyal competition but on first place we value our customers right to get the best Quality Service and Cleanliness and delight from their visit at McDonald’s.
In terms of our partnership practices we are working in developing local suppliers for production of products for McDonald’s thus helping local economy.
